(1) Uses Of The Verb "HAVE, HAS and HAD" As a State Verb
Part (a)
We use "Have" for one’s possession (Urdu Meaning: Hum "Have" istemal karte hen jab ap kisi cheez k Maalik Hon)
For example:
- I have a house in Madrid. (Urdu Meaning: Mare Pas Ek Ghar Hai Madrid Mai)
- He has two dogs. (Urdu Meaning: Uske Pas 2 Kutte Hen)
- She had good hair. (Urdu Meaning: Uske Pas Ache Baal The)
- Hopefully, I will have my own car in August. (Urdu Meaning: Umeed Hai K August Mai Mare Pas Apni Gari Hogi)
Part (b)
We use "Have" for one’s social relationship (Urdu Meaning: Hum "Have" istemal karte hen jab ap Ka Kisi K Sath Rishta Ya Dosti Ho)
For example:
- I have a wife three children. (Urdu Meaning: Meri Ek Biwi Or 3 Bache Hen)
- He has no friend. (Urdu Meaning: Uska Koi Dost Nahi Hai)
Part (c)
We use "Have" for one’s illness etc (Urdu Meaning: Hum "Have" istemal karte hen jab ap bimar hon ya tabiyat thek na ho)
For example:
- I have backache. (Urdu Meaning: Meri Kamar Mai Dard Hai)
- She has flu at the moment. (Urdu Meaning: Usko Iss Waqt Nazla Hai)
- Don't work too much. You will have headache. (Urdu Meaning: Bhat Zyadah Kaam Mat Karna. Apke Sar Mai Dard Hojaye Ga)
Part (d)
We use "Have" for one’s ideas, thoughts etc (Urdu Meaning: Hum "Have" istemal karte hen jab ap apne khiyalat bata Rahe Hon)
For example:
- We have a great idea. (Urdu Meaning: Hamare Pas Bht Acha Idea Hai)
- I have a question for you. (Urdu Meaning: Mere Pas Apke Liye Ek Sawal Hai)

Concept of "HAVE HAD"
We use "HAVE HAD" for recent actions, possessions, relationships etc. We use only Present Perfect Tense for "HAVE HAD". (Urdu Meaning: Hum "HAVE HAD" Hal Hi Mai Hoye Koi Bhi Kaam K Liye Istemal Karte Hen. Hum Iske Liye Sirf Present Perfect Tense Hi Istemaal Karte Hen))
For example:
- I have had his jacket for two days. (Urdu Meaning: Mere Pas 2 Din Se Uski Jacket Pari Hoye Hai)
- He has already had breakfast. (Urdu Meaning: Woh Pehli Hi Nashta Karchuka Hai)
- We have never had any daughter. (Urdu Meaning: Hamari Kabhi Koi Beti Nahi Hoye)
- Have you had a bad dream? (Urdu Meaning: Kiya Apne Koi Bura Khoab Dekha Hai?)
- She has not had backache since 2002. (Urdu Meaning: Saal 2002 Se Usko Kamar Mai Dard Nahi Hoa)
- They have just had a talk with me. (Urdu Meaning: Unhon Ne Mujh Se Abhi Abhi Baat Ki Hai)
In spoken English, we usually use Past Simple Tense for "HAVE HAD".
For example:
We never had any daughter.
